Int. the writer — day
Sophia Colette is a screenwriter working in comedy and drama. She writes stories that reflect real, complex, and passionate women. She takes great inspiration from both the fierce, unapologetic heroines of her youth and softer stories, such as Greta Gerwig’s screenplays Little Women and Barbie. She loves to depict girlhood through dialogue that feels real and includes overlapping conversation, laughter, and arguments. She loves creating characters that reflect the depth of the incredible women in her life with their emotional intelligence, easy laughter, and internal strength.
She began at Santa Barbara City College, working through three levels of screenwriting classes and receiving the college's Skills Competency Award in Screenwriting. She transferred to Southern New Hampshire University and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Creative Writing and Screenwriting, graduating with a 3.9 GPA and a place on the President's List every semester. She was recently accepted at the University of London, Goldsmiths, in September of 2027 to study for an MFA in Screenwriting.
Sophia is open to opportunities to develop feature films and to join a TV writers’ room.
